ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Laurie Brown is a social entrepreneur and inventor with a clear vision for a greener future. As founder of Restore Products Company, she launched the Restore brand of cleaning products, and is now revolutionizing the packaging of liquid products with her patented Restore Refill Station, which enables consumers to effortlessly refill Restore cleaners in grocery stores. She has won numerous awards including the Minnesota Governor’s Award, Minnesota Environmental Initiative, Businesses for Social Responsibility and the Finance and Commerce Innovator of the Year.
Laurie has always been at the intersection of new ideas. She lobbied to reform the community mental health system in Minnesota, managed national distribution for a software startup in the 80s, and ran a U.S. Senate Campaign in 1988. In the early 90’s, she opened the second environmental store in the U.S., Restore the Earth Store, and in 2000 she co-created a catalog for naturally inclined customers of Minnesota Public Radio. Her continued optimism has fueled all of her ventures---creating solutions that change tomorrow today.
Laurie grew up enjoying the outdoors and loves swimming, golfing, hiking, and cross country skiing the state and national parks. The simple, yet beautiful and elegant systems of the natural world inspire her passion for creating solutions to protect the earth. When Laurie isn't traveling, she enjoys her friends and family in the natural settings of her home in Minnesota and cabin in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
